| GILGAMESH AND NIMROD OF BABYLON GILGAMESH AND NIMROD OF BABYLON "Gilgamesh is described as part god and part man, a great builder and warrior, and a wise man in the story. Not mentioned in the Bible, the author suggests that Gilgamesh is to be identified with Biblical Nimrod in Genesis 10:8-12." -Who Was Nimrod? by Dr. David Livingston
"The Babylonian Flood Story is told on the 11th tablet of the Gilgamesh Epic, almost 200 lines of poetry on 12 clay tablets inscribed in cuneiform script. A number of different versions of the Gilgamesh Epic have been found around the ancient Near East... Commentators agree that the story comes from a much earlier period, not too long after the Flood as described in the story." -Who Was Nimrod? by Dr. David Livingston
"Yet his (Gilgamesh) arrogance, ruthlessness and depravity were a subject of grave concern for the citizens of Uruk (his kingdom), according to the Gilgamesh epic." -Who Was Nimrod? by Dr. David Livingston "They complained to the great god... to distract Gilgamesh's mind from the warrior's daughter and the noblemen's spouse, whom it appears he would not leave in peace." - (Roux 1966: 114). Roux, G. 1992 Ancient Iraq. 3rd ed., Harmondsworth, Middlesex, UK: Penguin.
"The Epic of Gilgamesh has some very indecent sections. Gilgamesh was a vile, filthy, man. Yet the myth says of him that he was "2/3 god and 1/3 man." -(Pritchard 1955: 72) Pritchard, J. 1969 Ancient Near Eastern Texts and the Old Testament. 3rd ed., Princeton: University Press. Who Was Nimrod? by Dr. David Livingston
How does Gilgamesh compare with "Nimrod?" Josephus says of Nimrod, "Now it was Nimrod who excited them to such an affront and contempt of God. He was the grandson of Ham, the son of Noah -- a bold man, and of great strength of hand." -Josephus (Ant. 1: iv: 2) 1998 Jewish Antiquities. Books I-III, Loeb Classics, Cambridge MA: Harvard University Press "He (Nimrod) persuaded them not to ascribe to God...but to believe that it was their own courage which procured their happiness. He also gradually changed the government into tyranny - seeing no other way of turning men from the fear of God, but to bring them into a constant dependence upon his own power." -Josephus (Ant. 1: iv: 2) 1998 Jewish Antiquities. Books I-III, Loeb Classics, Cambridge MA: Harvard University Press "He also said he would be revenged on God, if God should have a mind to drown the world again; for that he would build a tower too high for the waters to be able to reach! and that he (Nimrod) would avenge himself on God for destroying their forefathers." -Josephus (Ant. 1: iv: 2) 1998 Jewish Antiquities. Books I-III, Loeb Classics, Cambridge MA: Harvard University Press
"What Josephus says about Nimrod above is precisely what is found in the Gilgamesh epics. Gilgamesh set up tyranny, he opposed YHVH God and did his utmost to get people to forsake Jehovah." -Who Was Nimrod? by Dr. David Livingston "Two of the premiere commentators on the Bible in Hebrew had this to say about Genesis 10:9 - Nimrod was mighty in hunting, and that he did in opposition to YHVH. The name itself, "Nimrod" from marad, "we will revolt," points to some violent resistance to God." -Who Was Nimrod? by Dr. David Livingston
"Nimrod the hunter became a tyrant, a powerful hunter of men -(Keil and Delitzsch 1975: 165). Keil, C. F., and Delitzsch, P. 1975 Commentary on the Old Testament., Vol. I, Grand Rapids: Eerdmans.
"-in the face of YHVH- can only mean 'in defiance of YHVH,' as Josephus and the Targums understand it." - (op. cit.: 166). -Who Was Nimrod? by Dr. David Livingston -Josephus (Ant. 1: iv: 2) 1998 Jewish Antiquities. Books I-III, Loeb Classics, Cambridge MA: Harvard University Press
"After the Flood there was, at some point, a breakaway from YHVH. Only eight people descended from the Ark. Those people worshipped YHVH. But at some point an influential person became opposed to YHVH and gathered others to his side. I suggest that Nimrod is the one who did it, founding a new city and religious system. Likewise, Gilgamesh was a man who took control by his own strength" -Who Was Nimrod? by Dr. David Livingston
"Similarities between Gilgamesh and Nimrod -
He is a "shepherd" ....... page 18 From Uruk ................ page 17 A giant .................. page 17 Builds cities ............ page 17 Vile man "takes women" ... page 18 Mighty hunter ............ page 18 -Who Was Nimrod? by Dr. David Livingston (Kramer 1959: 31 calls Uruk, Erech.) Kramer, S. N., ed. 1959 History Begins at Sumer. Garden City NY: Doubleday. (Page numbers are from Heidel 1963) -Heidel, A. - The Gilgamesh Epic and Old Testament Parallels. Chicago: University Press.
"The Gilgamesh Epic calls the God who sent the flood by the name "Huwawa"; the Bible calls Him YHVH (or Yehowah). The similarities between 'Huwawa' and 'Yehowah' are strikingly obvious." -Who Was Nimrod? by Dr. David Livingston "Because of the parallels between Gilgamesh and Nimrod, many scholars agree that Gilgamesh is Nimrod." -Who Was Nimrod? by Dr. David Livingston
"There are still other parallels between the Bible and the Gilgamesh epic. Nimrod forcibly took other men's wives. The Epic says that is precisely what Gilgamesh did. The Bible calls Nimrod a tyrant, and Gilgamesh was a tyrant. There was a Flood in the Bible, there is a flood in the Epic. 'Cush' is mentioned in the Bible, 'Kish' is mentioned in the Epic. 'Erech' is mentioned in Scripture, 'Uruk' was Gilgamesh's city." -Who Was Nimrod? by Dr. David Livingston
"The fact that the Gilgamesh Epic also contains the Deluge story would indicate a close link with events immediately following the Flood." -Who Was Nimrod? by Dr. David Livingston Jacobsen points out (1939: 157) Jacobsen, T. 1939 The Sumerian Kinglist. Chicago: University Press
"Nimrod. The meaning is "The Rebel." It is more likely a derisive term of a type, a representative, of a system that is epitomized in rebellion against the Creator, the one true God. Rebellion began soon after the Flood as civilizations were restored. At that time this person became very prominent." -(see Kautzsch 1910: 137 2b; also BDB 1962: 597). Kautzsch, E., ed. 1910 Genesius' Hebrew Grammar. Oxford: Clarendon
"There are Similarities between the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Biblical Flood Story. Both stories include the divine destruction of humankind. Both stories have heroes that built a boat and take their families and animals on board with them. Both release three birds to find land and both boats sat on the top of a mountain when the flood subsided." -World History Online > Ancient History > Epic of Gilgamesh "The Epic of Gilgamesh also includes parallels to the Biblical story of Eden. A snake in close association with a magic plant and the element of immortality are found in both stories. Gilgamesh’s desire to find the key to immortality ends with a snake stealing a plant that restores the youth, while a snake in the story of Eden persuades Eve and then Adam to eat from the forbidden tree. The snake plays the key role in loss of access to youth and immortality, while in both stories they have to deal with the fact that they will die someday as a result." -World History Online > Ancient History > Epic of Gilgamesh
........................................ "The Bible records in Genesis 10:10, that, after the great flood, all men spoke one common language and a man named Nimrod built a city and established a common religion. Nimrod was a descendant of Noah’s son, Ham." - Ancient Babylonia - History of Babylonia "Genesis 11:1-9 describes the building of the city and its famous tower "whose top may reach unto heaven." It also records how God came down and punished the people’s arrogance by creating a confusion of different languages and possibly their racial distinctions." - Ancient Babylonia - History of Babylonia
"This way man would be forced to obey God’s original command to "be fruitful and fill the whole earth." - Ancient Babylonia - History of Babylonia
"It is interesting that the materials used to build the Tower of Babel were the same as those employed for the construction of the great ziggurat of Babylon and similar ziggurats, according to ancient building inscriptions. " - Ancient Babylonia - History of Babylonia
"Babylon occurs in the Christian New Testament both with a literal and a figurative meaning. The famous ancient city, located near Baghdad, was a complete unpopulated ruin by 275 BC, well before the time of the New Testament. In the Book of Revelation, the city of Babylon seems to be the symbol of every kind of evil." -Babylon (New Testament) From Wikipedia
"Babylon", there was... no Christian community in the actual city of Babylon during the time when the New Testament books were completed -roughly, the second half of the first century." -International Standard Bible Encyclopedia

| EASTER
EASTER EASTER "Easter - *Ôstara) was a goddess in Germanic paganism whose Germanic month has given its name to the festival of Easter. Ôstarmânoth is attested as the month-name equivalent to 'April' that was decreed by Charlemagne, but as a goddess Eostre is attested only by Bede in his 8th century work De temporum ratione. Bede states that Ēosturmōnaþ was the equivalent to the month of April, and that feasts held in Eostre's honor... replaced the "Paschal" observance of Passover." -- Einhard, Life of Charlemagne, §29. "Some scholars have debated whether or not Eostre is an invention of Bede's, and theories Einhard, connecting Eostre with records of Germanic Easter customs (including hares rabbits and eggs)." -- Einhard, Life of Charlemagne, §29. "Easter is a date on the Wiccan Wheel of the Year (Ostara, 21 March).[18} --Hubbard (2007:175).
"In some forms of Germanic Neopaganism, Eostre is venerated. Regarding this veneration, Carole M. Cusack comments that, among adherents, Eostre is "associated with the coming of spring and the dawn, and her festival is celebrated at the spring equinox. Because she brings renewal, rebirth from the death of winter, some Heathens associate Eostre with Idunn, keeper of the apples of youth in Scandinavian mythology".[20] -- Cusack (2008:354—355 Cusack, Carole M. (2008). "The Return of the Goddess: Mythology, Witchcraft and Feminist Spirituality" as published in Pizza, Murphy. Lewis, James R. (Editors). Handbook of Contemporary Paganism. Brill Publishers. ISBN 9004163735 THE PAGAN RABBIT
signed - Loving Easter Greetings "Eostre is connected with hares rabbits and eggs)." -- Einhard, Life of Charlemagne, §29. "The name Easter derived from the Saxon Eostre (a.k.a. Eastre). The ancient Saxons in Northern Europe worshiped the Goddess Oestre at the time of the Spring Equinox. The Goddess Easter represents the sunrise, spring-time and fertility." --"Eostre" from The Goddess Oracle by Marashinsky and Janto
Pagan Anglo-Saxons made offerings of colored eggs to her at the Vernal Equinox. They placed them at graves especially, probably as a charm of rebirth. (Egyptians and Greeks were also known to place eggs at gravesites)." --"Eostre" from The Goddess Oracle by Marashinsky and Janto
"Only later did the Christians pilfer the name for themselves and graft their religion onto a pagan celebration." --The Rite of Spring How the Christians stole the Easter holiday, by Jim Walker
The name “Easter” has its roots in ancient polytheistic religions (paganism). On this, all scholars agree. This name is never used in the original Scriptures, nor is it ever associated biblically with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Ancient origin Most reference books say that the name “Easter” derived from the Eastre, the Teutonic goddess of Spring. Although this relationship exists, in reality, the origin of the name and the goddess are far more ancient - going all the way back to the Tower of Babel. The origin begins not long after the biblical Flood. "The idea of a mystic egg spread from Babylon to many parts of the world.[12] --James G. Frazer, The Golden Bough, Vol. 12, 3rd Edition (1907-15, reissued 1935-36 and 1955); Maria Leach, editor, Funk and Wagnall's Standard Dictionary of Folklore, Mythology and Legend, Vol. 1 (1949). [up] --
"In Rome, the mystic egg preceded processions in honor of the Roman Mother GODDESS.. The egg was part of the sacred ceremonies of the Mysteries of Bacchus. The Druids used the egg as their sacred emblem. In Northern Europe, China and Japan the eggs were colored for their sacred festivals.[13} --James G. Frazer, The Golden Bough, Vol. 12, 3rd Edition (1907-15, reissued 1935-36 and 1955); Maria Leach, editor, pg 155. Funk and Wagnall's Standard Dictionary of Folklore, Mythology and Legend, Vol. 1 (1949). [up] -- "The egg was a sacred symbol among the Babylonians. They believed an old fable about an egg of wondrous size which was supposed to have fallen from heaven into the Euphrates River. From this marvelous egg - according to the ancient story - the Goddess Astarte (Easter) [Semiramis], was hatched. And so the egg came to symbolize the Goddess Easter.”[11] -- Ralph Woodrow, Babylon Mystery Religion; p152,153 (Riverside, California: Ralph Woodrow Evangelistic Assn., 1966)
"Basically, almost every vile, profane and idolatrous practice you can think of originated at Babel with Queen Semiramis, the Mother Goddess and Nimrod. As the people scattered from Babel with their different languages, they, of course, used different names for Nimrod (Tammuz) and Semiramis. Some called the Mother Goddess “ISHTAR” (originally pronounced “Easter”).[9] - pg 152 -- Ralph Woodrow, Babylon Mystery Religion; (Riverside, California: Ralph Woodrow Evangelistic Assn., 1966) 'In other lands, she was called Eostre, Astarte, Ostera, and Eastre. Other names for Semiramis, the Mother Goddess include: Wife of Baal, Ashtaroth or Ashtoreth, and Queen of Heaven.[10]'' --10.The names Ashtaroth or Ashtoreth, and Queen of Heaven where used for Semiramis by the Israelites and the ungodly peoples around them, see Judges 2:13, Jeremiah 44:17-19, etc. Other names for Semiramis include Astarte (Cyprus), Diana (Ephesus and throughout Asia Minor), Cybele (Asia Minor), Isis (Egypt), Aphrodite, Ceres (Greece), Venus or Fortuna (Romans), Shingmoo (China), Disa (Scandanavia), Nutria (Etruscans), Virgo-Paritura (Druids), Isi or Indrani or Devaki (India). "The Mother goddess was frequently worshipped as the goddess of fertility - and as a sort of Mother Nature and goddess of Spring and sexual love and birth. She was also worshipped as a mediator between god and man. Sexual orgies and temple prostitutes were often used in her worship and in attempting to gain her favor."
"The rabbit is well known as a sexual symbol of fertility. In various parts of the world, religions which developed from Babel also associate the rabbit with fertility rites."
The egg was also a symbol of fertility; Semiramis (Easter) was the goddess of Fertility. The Easter egg is a symbol of the pagan Mother Goddess, and it even bears one of her names. "the pagan festival of 'Easter' was introduced into the apostate Western religion, as part of the attempt to adapt pagan festivals to Christianity..." - Vine's Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words (1985, p. 192, "Easter") "Does the name Ishtar sound like Easter ? Well it should. It is the same. The celebration of Ishtar included coloring eggs, an ancient symbol of fertility. The ancients even hid eggs for their children to find. Also, rabbits, known for their prolific reproduction, were part of the pagan celebration." -- Resurrection Sunday and the Babylonian Connection; By Errol Hale
"Easter - She was the goddess of love, fertility, and maternity for the Phonicians, Canaanites, Aramaeans, South Arabs, and even the Egyptians. Her name was Ishtar in Babylonia and Assyria..." -World Book, Vol. 1, 782. Easter - "In Babylonia Ishtar was the goddess of erotic love and fertility. Her chief seat of worship was Uruk (Erech), where prostitution was practiced in her name and she was served with immoral rites by bands of men and women." - The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia, 1979, Volume 1, pages 319-320
Easter -"Ishtar was goddess of physical love (sex). She was patron of the temple prostitutes. Throughout Mesopotamian and Babylonian history she was worshiped under various names in many cities..." -Collier's Encyclopedia, 1980, Volume 15, page 748
Easter - "the goddess of sensual love, maternity and fertility. Licentious - debased sexual worship was conducted in honor of her." - Unger's Bible Dictionary ; ( pages 412-413 )
Easter -"She and her colleagues specialized in sex... and her shrines were temples of legalized vice and prostitution. Her degraded cult offered...sordid depths, as lust and murder were glamorized in Babylonian and Canaanite religion." - (W. F. Albright, Archaeology and the Religion of Israel, Baltimore, John Hopkins Press, 1942, pages 68-94).
"As at Christmas, so also at Easter, popular customs reflect many ancient pagan survivals...connected with fertility rites.." - The Encyclopaedia Britannica (15th edition, Macropaedia, Vol. IV, p. 605, "Church Year"). "Saint Augustine...simply re-dressed paganism with Christian nomenclature. Thus ancient pagan Babylonian religion had replaced apostolic teaching and practice." - Augustine's Poisoned Chalice by Peter Nathan
"There is NO trace of an "Easter" celebration in the New Testament. The Jewish Christians in the early church continued to celebrate the Passover, regarding Christ as the true paschal lamb." -(International Standard Bible Encyclopaedia, Electronic Database Copyright(c)1996)

| DEMONISM IN CHRISTMAS The Devil in Christmas is Plain to Everyone - Except Christians
DEMONISM IN CHRISTMAS The Devil in Christmas is Plain to Everyone - Except Christians Somehow, the Devil has wormed his way into the December Holiday. But even more strange than that - is the fact that the Holiday that we now call Christmas - really belonged to the Devil to begin with.
We can point to sun-god worship, since most of the sun gods of the world were born on December 25th - and that certainly bodes evil to Christians.... We can also point to the very first human who was worshiped as a "sun god" - Nimrod - who was born on December 25. He was an evil man who opposed God in Brute defiance. He was the model that all subsequent sun gods were copied from. This, too, eludes to a stagnant holiday of evil beginnings.
But even more than that, we can trace December 25th right back into the Lap of Satan himself. How so ?
The Ango-Saxon's were Devil worshippers. And worship of the Devil was part of their winter Festival in December. When Rome supposedly converted them to Christianity, these Devil worshippers were permitted to retain their Devil Holiday and the name of it was changed to "Christmas".
"Pope Gregory...advised Saint Augustine to allow his converts certain festivals.... as formerly they had done this in honor of "the devil"...(therefore) St. Augustine... permitted their usual December celebration under the new name...From these early pagan... ceremonies are derived many of the English holiday customs that have survived to our day." - The Evolution of Christmas; Published in 1909
And then we have the Black Peter, or Krampus of the European crowd, which is still part of their Christmas celebrations to this very day. With Krampus accompanying St. Nick on his Holiday Festival - one has only to look at Krampus and see where this holiday originates from. Krampus has cloven hoofs, pitchfork, long tongue, horns, dark sooty and sometime furry skin. He appears like an evil goat with whips and switches with which to beat bad children. He carries a bag or pail to carry the naughty children away and to dump them in the depths of Hell. "The old demonic, rathful Knecht Ruprecht who had scared children to death with his evil looks and Rute switch, was blended with Saint Nicholas...Ruprecht, Knecht Ruprecht, and Krampus were all demonic figures who used to accompany St. Nicholas. " - Saint Nicholas Glossary Das Nikolaus-Lexikon An Annotated German-English Glossary
"years ago St. Nick's job was split - while the jolly old elf delivered the goods, an evil, goat-horned spirit called the Krampus brought switches and bad dreams to the boys and girls of Austria, southern Germany, Switzerland, and far northern Italy." - Santa's Not-So-Little Helper; by Clay Risen 4-December-2002 The Morning News
"In this country, St. Nicholas has been thoroughly domesticated as jolly Santa Claus, but in Europe he still travels with a ferocious frightening creature named Krampus...In the bad old days, naughty children were put in Krampus's black bag." - St. Nicholas ; House on the Hill, Inc.
"Saint Nicholas Eve is known as Krampus Day in some parts of Austria. Krampus is an evil fertility demon that has a long tail, fur, rattling chain, birch branch, and big black bag." - St. Nicholas Page; by Christine O'Keeffe "Considering Santa you cannot miss his "alter ego", who has followed him like a dark shadow since ancient times. There is a devil, called Percht, Bartl, Krampus, Knecht Ruprecht, or Rotsohler, accompanying Santa Claus in the European Alps. He shows the pre-Christian origin of this custom as a daemon trabant, who comes with a horseshoe, basket, and chains... There is also another figure: Ruebezahl, a German mythical, giant-like person, who is a mixture of Krampus and Santa." - Santa's Origin ; by Sepp Rothwangl "Nick or Old Nick is a well-known appellation of the Devil. The name appears to have been derived from the Dutch Nikken, the devil, which again comes from the Anglo-Saxon nac-an, to slay--for as Wachter says the devil was "a murderer from the beginning." - Spence, Lewis.- An Encyclopedia of Occultism New York, Carol Publishing Group Edition, 1996 [ISBN 0-8065-1401-9]

| TRUE CHRISTIANS - DO "NOT" CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS
WHY ? 1. Jesus commanded his followers to commemorate his death - NOT his birth.
2. Only sinners celebrated their birthdays - NOT saints.
3. If God had wanted us to celebrate Christ's birth - he would have recorded the date - but he didn't. But - the date and time of his son's death WAS recorded.
4. The early followers of Christ - did NOT observe or celebrate his birth.
5. Christ was NOT born in December.
6. All the customs of Christmas - including the Date come from Ancient Babylon and involve the worship of gods - other than the true God, Jehovah.
7. Jesus reminded us - that true worshippers - would worship ONLY - The Father.
8. Both the Old and New Testament remind us - not to have other gods - in Jehovah's face.
9. Jesus and the Apostles remind us to keep our worship pure and undefiled from God's Viewpoint - NOT our own. True Christians do NOT compromise with paganism.
10. Jesus and the Apostles remind us - to not be unevenly yoked with unbelievers.
11. Jesus foretold that there would be many things done in his name that he would NOT approve of.
12. Jesus said that we should be NO part of the world just as he was no part of it.
13. The apostles remind us - that observing months, and seasons, and holy days, was a waste of time that would put us on God's Disfavor. We could become God's enemies - if we pursue worldly things - like pagan holidays.
14. True Christians care what God thinks, and they try to follow Christ as that is what the word "Christian" means - to obey his commands.
NOW - FOR THE DETAILS WHY 'TRUE' CHRISTIANS DO NOT CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS 1. Jesus commanded his followers to commemorate his death - NOT his birth. "...the day of one's death is better than the day of one's birth. The end of a matter is better than its beginning..." (Ecclesiastes 7:1,8)(NASB)-BibleGateway "Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. And he said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. ....do this in remembrance of me." (Luke 22:7,15,19)(NIV)-BibleGateway "For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." (1Corinthians 11:23,24)(NIV)-BibleGateway
2. Only sinners celebrated their birthdays - NOT saints."in the scriptures sinners alone, NOT saints celebrate their birthdays." - the Catholic Encyclopedia "In the Scriptures, no one is recorded to have kept a feast or held a great banquet on his birthday. It is only sinners who make great rejoicings over the day in which they were born into this world" - (Catholic Encyclopedia, 1908 edition, Vol. 3, p. 724, "Natal Day"). "the general Christian usage was to celebrate the death of remarkable persons rather than their birth." (Encyclopedia Americana, 1942, Vol.6, 623)
3. If God had wanted us to celebrate Christ's birth - he would have recorded the date - but he didn't. But - the date and time of his son's death WAS recorded."There is no certainty as to the month or day of the birth [of Jesus]. " - (The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia, 1986, "Jesus Christ," p. 1628).
4. The early followers of Christ - did NOT observe or celebrate his birth."On your day of gladness, we [Christians] neither cover our doorposts with wreaths, nor intrude upon the day with lamps. At the call of public festivity, you consider it a proper thing to decorate your house like some new brothel. We are accused of a lower sacrilege because we do not celebrate along with you the holidays of the Caesars in a manner forbidden alike by modesty, decency, and purity" - (Tertullian, (A.D. 155-220), 2001, p. 1176). (quoted by David Bercot, A Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs, 1998, p. 342). "There is no historical evidence that our [Savior's] birthday was celebrated during the apostolic or early post-apostolic times," - The New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge, "Christmas," p. 47. Christmas - "The day was NOT one of the early feasts of the Christian church. In fact the observance of birthdays was condemned as a heathen custom repugnant to Christians," - The American Book of Days, George W. Douglas, p. 658. "(Christmas) Such a festival came under the condemnation of Galatians 4:9-11, and should have no place in a Christian church." - (Romanism vs. Apostolic Christianity, Helgerson) Dr. Ironside; (Chicago); 1919 "Christmas is NOT of the Lord. We ought to avoid even the use of the term so far as possible. Furthermore, it ought not to be observed by an informed Bible church any more than the Muslim feast of Ramadan." - (Romanism vs. Apostolic Christianity, Helgerson) Dr. Ironside; (Chicago); 1919
5. Christ was NOT born in December."It is evident that Jesus was NOT born during the middle of winter, for at the time of his birth, the shepherds were living out in the fields with their flocks. As the bible says: 'There were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night" (Luke 2:8). As is well known, the shepherds in Palestine do not "abide in the fields" during the winter season because of the extreme, cold temperatures. The shepherds always bring their flocks in from the mountain slopes and fields no later than October 15th! " - Mede's Works, 1679. Discourse xlvii Other evidence arguing against a December birth of Jesus is the Roman census recorded by Luke. "And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered... So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem..., to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son..." (Luke 2:1-7). This census "could hardly have been at that season [December 25], however, for such a time would surely NOT have been chosen by the authorities for a public enrollment, which necessitated the population's traveling from all parts to their natal districts, storms and rain making journeys both unsafe and unpleasant in winter..." - ("Christmas at Bethlehem," Holy-Days and Holidays; Cunningham Geikie). "The temperature in the area of Bethlehem in December... can drop to well below freezing, especially at night. Describing the weather there, Sara Ruhin, chief of the Israeli weather service, noted in a 1990 press release that the area has three months of frost: December with 29 F."
6. All the customs of Christmas - including the Date come from Ancient Babylon and involve the worship of gods - other than the true God, Jehovah."Long before the fourth century, and long before the Christian era itself, a festival was celebrated among the heathen, at that precise time of the year, in honour of the birth of the son of the Babylonian queen of heaven; and it may fairly be presumed that, in order to conciliate the heathen, and to swell the number of the normal adherents of Christianity, the same festival was adopted by the Roman Church, giving it only the name of Christ." - The Two Babylons; Alexander Hislop (p. 93). "Christmas began in Mesopotamia (Ancient Babylon) over 4000 years ago" - (4000 years of Christmas; by Earl W. Count) "December 25th - not only was Mithra, the sun-god of Mithraism, said to be born at this time of the year, but Osiris, Horus, Hercules, Bacchus, Adonis, Jupiter, Tammuz, and other sun-gods were also supposedly born at what is today called the "Christmas" season, the winter solstice! - Doane, p.474; - "The Two Babylons; Alexander Hislop, p.93. "The "winter solstice (December) was the time at which all the sun-gods from Osiris to Jupiter and Mithra had celebrated their (birthdays) - the celebration being adorned with the pine tree of Adonis, the holly of Saturn, and the mistletoe (of the pagan Druids).....tapers(candles) represented the kindling of the newborn sun-god's fire..." -Man and His Gods, p.201.
7. Jesus reminded us - that true worshippers - would worship ONLY - The Father."The true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth." - John 4:23‑24 8. Both the Old and New Testament remind us - not to have other gods - in Jehovah's face.God has never accepted pagan practices with His worship. In Exodus 32 when the golden calf was built and the celebration was declared "a feast unto the Lord," God commanded in Exodus 20:3 - "Thou shall have NO other gods before Me." "...the customs now associated with Christmas go back thousands of years to a time when the people of Europe worshipped pagan gods." - Compton's Encyclopedia
9. Jesus and the Apostles remind us to keep our worship "pure" and "undefiled" from God's Viewpoint - NOT our own. True Christians do NOT compromise with paganism. "The acceptable way of worshipping the true God is instituted by himself, and so limited by his own revealed will, that he may not be worshipped according to the imaginations and devices of men, or the suggestions of Satan, under any visible representation, or any other way not prescribed in the holy scripture" - (Westminster Confession, 1:6)(21:1). "...keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world." (James 1:27)(AMP)-BibleGateway
"The important fact then which I have asked you to get clearly into your head is that the fixing of the date as December 25th was a compromise with paganism." - The Evolution of Christmas; Published in 1909 "do not be trapped into following their example in worshiping their gods. Do not say, `How do these nations worship their gods? I want to follow their example.' You must not do this to the LORD(Jehovah)your God." (Deuteronomy 12:30,31)(NLT)-BibleGateway 10. Jesus and the Apostles remind us - to not be unevenly yoked with unbelievers. "Don't team up with those who are unbelievers. How can goodness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the Devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? And what union can there be between God's temple and idols? Therefore, come out from them and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don't touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you." (2Corinthians 6:14-17)(NLT)-BibleGateway
11. Jesus foretold that there would be many things done in his name that he would NOT approve of."There is no warrant in Scripture for the observance of Christmas and Easter as holydays, rather the contrary, and such observance is contrary to the principles of the Reformed faith, conducive to will-worship, and not in harmony with the simplicity of the gospel of Jesus Christ." - The pcus General Assembly of 1899 "Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name... and done many mighty works in Your name? And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly - disregarding My commands." (Matthew 7:22,23)(AMP)-BibleGateway
12. Jesus said that we should be NO part of the world just as he was no part of it."...for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world." (John 17:14)(NIV)-BibleGateway "You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. " (James 4:4)(NIV)-BibleGateway
13. The apostles remind us - that observing months, and seasons, and holy days, was a waste of time that would put us on God's Disfavor. We could become God's enemies - if we pursue worldly things - like pagan holidays. "Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. But now that you know God-- or rather are known by God-- how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? You are observing special days and months and seasons and years! I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you. " (Galatians 4:8-11)(NIV)-BibleGateway "You even 'celebrate' certain days, months, seasons, and years. I am afraid I have wasted my time working with you. " (Galatians 4:10,11)(CEV)-BibleGateway "You have holy days, holy months, holy seasons, and holy years. I fear that all my work for you has been for nothing. " (Galatians 4:10,11)(WE)-BibleGateway "You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. " (James 4:4)(NIV)-BibleGateway
14. True Christians care what God thinks, and they try to follow Christ as that is what the word "Christian" means - to obey his commands.
"Jesus replied, 'And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. (Matthew 15:3,6)(NIV)-BibleGateway "Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down." (Mark 7:13)(NIV)-BibleGateway "They moved him to jealousy with strange gods; With abominations provoked they him to anger. They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; They have provoked me to anger with their vanities." (Deteronomy 32:16,32)(ASV)-BibleGateway "Then the Lord said, 'Because this people draw near with their words And honor Me with their lip service, But they remove their hearts far from Me, And their reverence for Me consists of tradition..." (Isaiah 29:13)(NASB)-BibleGateway "How many observe Christ's birthday! How few, his precepts! O! 'tis easier to keep holidays than commandments." -Benjamin Franklin, Poor Richard's Almanack, 1732-57
There is nothing Christian about Christmas. Sure, religion has tried to make it appear Christian, but anything like CHRIST must line up with the Word of God and Christmas doesn't. It is full of lies and hypocrisy, from Santa to the giving of gifts to the nativity scene. The most popular scene at Christmas, the nativity scene, says that when the wise men presented gifts to JESUS, He was in a stable. The bible says He was in a house (Matt.2:11) and could have been as much as two years old (Matt. 2:7-16). These so called "wise men" were Astrologers sent by Herod to find Jesus so that he could have him killed. The Bible condemns astrology - and the evil intent of the astrologers was thwarted by Jehovah God - when he warned them not to return to Herod. If you take the lies and paganism out of Christmas, you'll have no Christmas, for that's what it is made of. If God wanted us to celebrate JESUS' birthday, He would have given us the date and told us how to do it. We are only told to commemorate His death. Let me abhor any inclination to return to Babylon, serving false gods ‑ May it never be again!" "Christmas began in Mesopotamia (Ancient Babylon) over 4000 years ago" - (4000 years of Christmas; by Earl W. Count) "Babylon was, at that time, the center of the civilized world; and thus Paganism...had opportunities of sending forth its debased counterfeit of the truth to all the ends of the earth." - Hislop, A., The Two Babylons, Loiseaux Brothers, Neptune, N.J. pg 99.
Little wonder that "false religion" is called - "Babylon The Great" "...Babylon The Great... 'Come away from her, my people. Do not take part in her sins, or you will be punished with her. For her sins are piled as high as heaven, and God is ready to judge her for her evil deeds.' " (Revelation 18:1,4)(NASB)-BibleGateway Yes, false religion - even in the name of Christ has been unfaithful to God and to Christ. She has played "spiritual" adultery to the truth. She has led the whole world astray. "...and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries." (Revelation 17:2)(NIV)-BibleGateway "You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. " (James 4:4)(NIV)-BibleGateway
"You're cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. " (James 4:4) (MSG) - BibleGateway IN CONCLUSION The Bible says that in the "Last Days" - people would love pleasure rather than God - They would have a form of religion but it would have no power." Does God really want worship that ignornes his requirements and feelings - and that is based on our own pleasures and desires ? It reminds me of people that say they love us - but ignore our feelings - and do whatever they please based on their own pleasures. "...in the last days... Instead of loving God, they will love pleasure. Even though they will make a show of being religious, their religion won't be real. (2Timothy 3:1-5)(CEV)-BibleGateway
IS THERE ANY GROUP OF CHRISTIANS TODAY THAT DO NOT CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS ? YES, INDEED ! WHO ARE THEY ?
They are famous for their refusal to involve themselves in any worldy or pagan worship. I think you already know who they are.
